Advisory PublishedCVSS 9.6/10
This package is an infostealer masquerading as ethers.js. On install, postinstall.js collects system info, SSH private keys, .npmrc, .gitconfig, browser cookies/logins (Chrome, Firefox), crypto wallet directories (.metamask, .exodus, .bitcoin, .solana, etc.), and a broad set of sensitive environment variables (AWS keys, GitHub tokens, mnemonics, private keys). The stolen profile is exfiltrated via two channels: a Telegram bot (7231970337:AAExyV3dvbNs6xkMJB7S2hArUash9owd-bw) and an HTTP POST to a Serveo tunnel C2 (40f955f39128bd79-178-249-214-24.serveousercontent.com/collect). The attacker model is a supply-chain credential/wallet stealer targeting Web3 developers who might install a package named 'etherjs' expecting the legitimate ethers.js library.
