Second wave of the Shai-Hulud worm ('The Second Coming', from ~2025-11-21) affecting hundreds of packages including those from Zapier, ENS Domains, PostHog, Postman and AsyncAPI. A preinstall hook runs a credential-harvesting worm that scans for and exfiltrates developer/CI secrets, creates large numbers of malicious GitHub repositories for exfiltration, and self-propagates across packages reachable via stolen tokens.
