Advisory PublishedCVSS 9.6/10
Vulnetix · Advisory published October 21, 2026
This campaign consists of similar loader packages, which provide executing code from a given URL. While they do not contain the malicious payload and the usage remains unknown, they are clearly a coordinated campaign to place multiple deceptive ways to load malicious code. Category: MALICIOUS - The campaign has clearly malicious intent, like infostealers. Campaign: 2026-10-voice-synthesis-profiles Reasons (based on the campaign): - Downloads and executes a remote malicious script. - other Judge assessment: The package's sole purpose, as plainly readable in voxilaratts/__init__.py, is to fetch a remote Python file from a caller-supplied URL and execute it in-process via compile/exec on every import or explicit call to run(). This is a remote-code-execution loader by design, not incidentally: the docstring even advertises the pattern explicitly. The IOC extracted from the docstring example (https://example/serve/eval-profile.py) is illustrative, but the actual payload URL is fully attacker-controlled at call time or via the VOXILARATTS_PROFILE environment variable, meaning any consumer of this package can be directed to execute arbitrary Python code. The metadata profile — brand-new single-version package, no repository, no author, opaque description — is consistent with a throwaway campaign package. The OSV advisory identifies this as part of a coordinated 2026-10-voice-synthesis-profiles campaign of loader packages, which the code structure directly corroborates: the library provides no voice synthesis functionality whatsoever and exists only as an RCE primitive. ENTRY voxilaratts/__init__.py (module-import: 58) DESTINATION - 1 fetched-payload (urls) (values recorded in verified_iocs) EXFIL - Network Request in voxilaratts/__init__.py: "urllib.request.urlopen(" ADDITIONAL FINDINGS - Dynamic Code Execution in voxilaratts/__init__.py: "compile(src, mod.__file__, "exec")" PAYLOAD FILES voxilaratts/__init__.py
