Advisory PublishedCVSS 9.6/10
This campaign consists of similar loader packages, which provide executing code from a given URL. While they do not contain the malicious payload and the usage remains unknown, they are clearly a coordinated campaign to place multiple deceptive ways to load malicious code.
Category: MALICIOUS - The campaign has clearly malicious intent, like infostealers.
Campaign: 2026-10-voice-synthesis-profiles
Reasons (based on the campaign):
- other
- Downloads and executes a remote malicious script.
Judge assessment: The package implements a remote code loader: on import or explicit call, it fetches an arbitrary Python file from a caller-supplied URL (defaulting to the TTSPROBE_URL environment variable), writes it to a temp directory, and executes it in-process via compile()+exec(). This is a textbook fetched-payload loader pattern — the package itself contains no payload, but it is designed to pull and run arbitrary attacker-controlled code. The IOC URL 'https://example/internal/profile.py' is a placeholder that would be substituted with a real operator-controlled endpoint at runtime. The package has zero meaningful metadata (no description, no repository, no homepage), consistent with a throwaway delivery vehicle. The design is unambiguous: the sole purpose of `retrieve()` and `start()` is to download and execute a remote Python script, which is not a pattern found in legitimate CPU benchmark tooling.
