Advisory PublishedCVSS 9.6/10
Vulnetix · Advisory published October 22, 2026
This campaign consists of similar loader packages, which provide executing code from a given URL. While they do not contain the malicious payload and the usage remains unknown, they are clearly a coordinated campaign to place multiple deceptive ways to load malicious code. Category: MALICIOUS - The campaign has clearly malicious intent, like infostealers. Campaign: 2026-10-voice-synthesis-profiles Reasons (based on the campaign): - other - Downloads and executes a remote malicious script. Judge assessment: The package implements a remote code loader pattern: `obtain()` fetches arbitrary Python source from a caller-supplied URL (falling back to `SPEAKBENCH_URL` env var), writes it to a temp directory, and executes it in-process via `exec(compile(...))`. This is a classic stage-1 loader — the package itself carries no payload, but it provides a fully functional mechanism to download and execute arbitrary attacker-controlled code at runtime. The minimal metadata (no description, no repository, no homepage) and the example URL embedded in the docstring are consistent with a burner package in a coordinated campaign. The IOC classifier correctly identifies the loader role. The OSV advisory's campaign attribution is consistent with what the code actually does.
