Advisory PublishedCVSS 9.6/10
This campaign consists of similar loader packages, which provide executing code from a given URL. While they do not contain the malicious payload and the usage remains unknown, they are clearly a coordinated campaign to place multiple deceptive ways to load malicious code.
Category: MALICIOUS - The campaign has clearly malicious intent, like infostealers.
Campaign: 2026-10-voice-synthesis-profiles
Reasons (based on the campaign):
- Downloads and executes a remote malicious script.
- other
Judge assessment: The package implements a remote code loader as its core and only functionality: on import or explicit call, `load()` in `dictanovaasr/__init__.py` fetches arbitrary Python source from a caller-supplied URL via `urllib.request.urlopen`, writes it to disk, and executes it in-process via `exec(compile(src, ...))`. The example URL hardcoded in the module docstring (`https://example/serve/eval-profile.py`) is classified as a C2 endpoint by the IOC extractor, consistent with a loader-as-a-service pattern. The package description ('Tiny standard-library loader for remote speech-recognition profiles') is a deliberate disguise for what is simply a remote payload executor with retry logic. The publisher account 'Glog' has exactly two packages, both identically structured loaders with different domain covers ('dictanovaasr' / 'codecraze'), which matches the coordinated campaign pattern noted in the advisory. The attacker model is a staged loader: the package itself is clean, but once deployed it pulls and executes an attacker-controlled payload at runtime, bypassing static scanning of the payload.
