Advisory PublishedCVSS 8.8/10
Vulnetix · Advisory published September 1, 2026
The package steals AWS cloud credentials and exfiltrates them to an attacker-controlled URL. The threat actor is a bug bounty researcher. The package.json file calls a postinstall command that runs "node readme/index.js". That index.js file contains the payload which steals AWS secret and access keys, session tokens, and passwords. The script then exfils that data to https://discord.com/api/webhooks/1436946154410606672/-tLZYXUHuewJ81ydPUVWmKBk0EPPqoJkL6WrARMo1BMtyWt-_oIvbVV82LnxV-oEvxp4.
