Advisory PublishedCVSS 8.8/10
Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. All secrets and keys stored on that computer should be rotated immediately from a different computer. The package should be removed, but as full control of the computer may have been given to an outside entity, there is no guarantee that removing the package will remove all malicious software resulting from installing it.
Judge assessment: The package's entrypoint `dist/index.mjs` reads like a normal browser-safe analytics helper: it imports `bucketByDay`, `qualifyingDayKeys`, and local streak math, and there is no visible code execution, credential theft, network exfiltration, or obfuscation in the supplied content. The main risk signal is metadata-only: a brand-new npm account (`ke_loxzd`), a package published hours ago, and no linked repository, which is consistent with throwaway malware publishing but not proof by itself. The OSV MAL-2026-14518 advisory is not corroborated by the actual entry file or any IOCs in this payload, so I do not accept the “fully compromised” claim as evidenced here. This is best treated as a suspicious new publisher package worth manual review rather than confirmed malware.
