Releases 22.04 LTS --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Open side navigation Packages o linux-intel-iot-realtime - Linux kernel for Intel IoT Real-time platforms Details It was discovered that the Linux kernel algif_aead module did not properly handle in-place cryptographic operations. This flaw is known as Copy Fail. A local attacker could use this to escalate privileges, or possibly escape a container. ( CVE-2026-31431 ) Several security issues were discovered in the Linux kernel. An attacker could possibly use these to compromise the system. This update corrects flaws in the following subsystems: o Cryptographic API; o Ethernet bonding driver; o Packet sockets; o TLS protocol Update instructions ATTENTION: Due to an unavoidable ABI change the kernel updates have been given a new version number, which requires you to recompile and reinstall all third party kernel modules you might have installed. Unless you manually uninstalled the standard kernel metapackages (e.g. linux-generic, linux-generic-lts-RELEASE, linux-virtual, linux-powerpc), a standard system upgrade will automatically perform this as well. The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions: Ubuntu Package Version Release linux-image-5.15.0-1100-intel-iot-realtime - 5.15.0-1100.102 Real-time Real-time kernel available with Ubuntu Pro. 22.04 LTS linux-image-intel-iot-realtime - 5.15.0.1100.104 Real-time Real-time jammy kernel available with Ubuntu Pro. linux-image-intel-iot-realtime-5.15 - 5.15.0.1100.104 Real-time Real-time kernel available with Ubuntu Pro. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References o CVE-2026-43078 o CVE-2026-43077 o CVE-2026-43033 o CVE-2026-31533 o CVE-2026-31504 o CVE-2026-31431 o CVE-2026-31419 Related notices o USN-8289-1 o USN-8289-2 o USN-8281-1 o USN-8281-2 o USN-8280-1 o USN-8280-2 o USN-8279-1 o USN-8279-2 o USN-8279-3 o USN-8278-1 o USN-8277-1 o USN-8277-2 o USN-8226-1 o USN-8226-2 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - --------------------------END INCLUDED TEXT---------------------- You have received this e-mail bulletin as a result of your organisation's registration with AUSCERT.
